Public schools in CA are ranked at the 11th place of 50 states and yet we pay some of the highest taxes even when our children do not attend public schools. The Governor himself chose private school for his own children while shutting down public schools. Why shouldn’t the average working family have the same opportunities? More and more California parents are choosing private schools that match their values or opting to homeschool out of mounting concerns and mandates. Quality educators are leaving the field over politicized policies, safety, and a lack of support. Our children deserve better and their families deserve a choice for all the money they spend in this district. I believe school choice allows for families to find the best fit for their children, teachers to find schools that fit their philosophy, and voucher systems promote healthy completion to reward good teachers and weed out those that are no longer invested.
